Using the radio won't put any sort of a strain on a car battery - it uses so little current. Also, the radio cuts out after 10 minutes by default.

Radio shouldn't but I believe some BMWs power up the entire media system and that can draw a lothappy days wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2018 3:48 pm Using the radio won't put any sort of a strain on a car battery - it uses so little current. Also, the radio cuts out after 10 minutes by default.
Is the Macan not possibly the same. Why else would it turn itself off so quickly. I find it a bit annoying.John_M wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2018 12:20 pmRadio shouldn't but I believe some BMWs power up the entire media system and that can draw a lothappy days wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2018 3:48 pm Using the radio won't put any sort of a strain on a car battery - it uses so little current. But you can switch back on again. Why would the system allow that if it was a threat?ScotMac wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2018 12:45 pmIs the Macan not possibly the same. Even when New my X5 would display a battery discharge warning after a short while and the hand book recommended turning everything off if engine not running. Furthermore I don’t think it would allow the radio to work with ignition off.

Thanks for the heads up! I’ve looked at that little REST logo a few times and wondered briefly what it’s for!
I’ve now used it several times!
Like others I think the radio/Nav switches it’s self off after a fairly short time to protect the battery. I just wish the radio wouldn’t switch itself on every time I put the key in the ignition!
