Having achieved one ambition of buying myself a brand new Porsche (and a great car) I couldn't help looking out of the window at the Macan and thinking, yes it's a Porsche, but it's not THE Porsche that I've always dreamed of!
Hence, very rashly and hastily, I traded it in for my lovely pre-owned 991.1 C2.
The rest, you probably know...

For me Macan ownership is a completely new level of driving. I've always purchased year old vehicles outright and then run them for 6-9 years! So the pattern here is foreign to me. Are there members running Macans into the 30K plus mile range?

Not all of us are moving into a 911.
In all honesty if I moved into a 911 of my own it would be a permanent move, I would be stuck in the thing, they are far to low for this old guy with a bad back and shot at hips.
Even the Macan is causing me problems as the seating is just so damn high off the ground I struggle to get out.
So my next car will not be a 911 or even a Porsche.

997 Turbo was a failure in terms of engagement in my opinion so would agree. 991 much better!Nobleman wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2018 6:04 pm I'm barely out of newbie shorts compared to some here, but forums are a bit like real life - people come and go. This one is much friendlier than most, and genuinely useful, and I plan to keep the Macan long term. So I'm afraid I'll be hanging around.
Re the 911 migration, I don't see it happening in my case. It wouldn't work for me as a Macan replacement, and (heresy alert) I didn't find the 997T I had a few years ago to be quite exciting enough as a weekend toy. Oh gawd, what have I said...
