Hi Steve! And welcome. :)

I concur on all three of the above - heated steering wheel (bliss!), auto-dimming mirrors & the spare wheel.

Congrats on the order.

I get a new Porsche in April too! :)

Might we enquire as to what size of discount you negotiated?

Cheers,

Simon

Yup, I would pick all 3 of those items (none of which my car has). Never understood heated steering wheels before, but something to do with the positioning in the Macan, I notice that my hands seem to be in cold air, even once the seat and general cabin has warmed up?

Have the spare tyre in our Q5 and it was a real bonus when we had a flat in France, on a Sunday afternoon and still 500 miles from home.

Good news on the discount, my OPC wouldn't budge past free rubber mats and a boot liner, back in October!

Thanks for all your comments and welcoming me to your forum, I was thinking of adding the collapsible spare wheel and colour centre caps. Also contemplating Power Steering Plus ?

Currently driving a 2015 C-Classs AMG but was amazed by the handling and torque of the Macan Diesel !

Managed to negotiate a £2,500.00 discount from list price based on a straight purchase and no p/x. Had to visit a couple of Porsche dealers to get this and really played on the fact that a facelift Macan would be available to order towards the end of 2018 !

I always missed my heated steering wheel from a previous Jag XF that I owned and thought it was a sensible cheap option.

So glad I picked the Macan over the Velar and cannot wait to take delivery in April 😊

..what is the world coming to....? Virtually nil lead times and £2.5 grand off......!

Bring back the 18 month waits and having to ask nicely to be allowed to buy one I say!

Hi All,

I went back to the drawing board after reviewing other posts and You Tube videos about S vs GTS vs Turbo and TPP. In the end it came down to everyday usability, looks, fun and cost. GTS won.

Macan GTS
Night blue
Black spyder alloys
Alcantara GTS seats in black
Light comfort package
Heated seats and steering wheel
Pano roof
Sport mirrors
Sport chrono
BOSE
Piano black interior
Garnet red chrono dial
Body coloured side blades

Things I would have liked and were recommended - Porsche torque vectoring, LEDs and the two-tone Alcantara. Alas they all tipped the numbers. We lease ours through work so any more cash over the allowance beyond what we pay now for the Cayenne was a factor.

On balance and considering my budget, I felt a lighter specced Turbo or Plus wouldn’t quite give me what I was after overall. Traffic in and out of Manchester didn’t help and neither do my current 6 points so a GTS should be more than enough and I’m sure I won’t be disappointed.

The difference in what I could have spent will go towards my wife’s next car which will either be another S3, or a TTS.

Thanks for all your inputs which were taken on board and wrestled with before finally making my decision.

Cheers :D

Many say that the GTS is the sweet spot of the Macan range. Congrats! :)
