Definitely worth getting the insurance company involved - that’s a rubbish answer!
“ yeah, our guys always break stuff, so we give them a tube of gunk!”
“ approved process” my @rse! Approved by who!? Not Porsche, that’s for sure!

Actually this stuff came on a roll ;)

No... just approved by Auto-ass HQ. So not a rogue fitter.

Oh also because the console cabling has a retaining clip it is suitable to leave it hanging by it.

Nope. They've said they'll pay for any rectification costs. Hopefully Porsche Cambridge can locate where my internal lights have gone...both the rear reading & front vanity mirror ones.

Well this replacement screen is now cracked! Will get OPC to conduct the replacement from the start this time. Just complete the 2200miles to the intermediate service. Going to try Clearplex on this one.

I hope you have a better luck this time! Perhaps it's a blessing in disguise that the replacement screen is cracked and it all has to be re-done properly now.

I have just come accross your story with Auto-Glass, what a shocker!

Indeed...wonder if they order clips now. OPC very reasonable in costs and only had to recoup £93.88 from Autoglass

Well I'm still being done by Porsche Glass!

Car was in this week for 2nd screen replacement & interim service.... so had a Cayenne courtesy car. Signed the documents (including the £500 excess). And got a stone chip in the screen ... to find out that the £500 excess also applied to the glass. I cannot recommend Cambridge OPC after this. No warning, that their curtesy had such strings attached no suggestion that they could have simply picked up my vehicle.

Unfortunate, but surely a £75 chip repair will suffice?

As for you paying for it....why shouldn’t you? Would you be happy if they took your car out on road test and brought it back with a chipped screen?

Presume it depends upon the size & position of the chip...? :geek:
