No surprise the MPG decreases as average speed increases

We often drive to / from Trebon in the Czech Republic, which is 840miles or so. Both SD and Turbo have eaten up that trip with aplom.
Really planted at high Autobahn (120-130mph) speeds and super comfy too
We share the driving, but have both driven the trip solo (Semerka many times) with just fluids/food pit stops.

Not necessarily. Eg a largely non motorway cross country romp on the way home.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 8:57 pm No surprise the MPG decreases as average speed increases
VG Petrol S http://www.porsche-code.com/PHIVCQU7 And a GT3 RS... by Lego! Not crash-tested!
No long journeys in the Macan yet but i managed 900 miles in one day in the 928 taking my daughter around universities.
She slept while i drove and i slept while she did interviews; successful day as she was accepted for Fine Art (Sculpture) at Brighton.
Last time i drove to Paris the road was clear and i was within a whisker of 20mpg at 120mph on cruise. Wouldn't dare do that now as i'd probably end up walking home carless.

That was at around 75mph most of the way. No traffic, M4 M5 and A30. I took advantage of the coasting function on the long hilly bits of the A30.Mike and his Macan wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 5:49 pm Have to agree,,,I can only last 2 hours in my 640d theses days, hence the change although I will be very envious of your mpg!....was that at 70+10%......4.5 years on run flats!
The fuel economy soon drops over 80mph and you can forget Sport or Sport+.

My average was 57mph over 690 miles so I can guess that you were certainly 'pressing on' and hoping the local Plod were enjoying their Turkey dinner at home

That must've been when you were young and brave(stupid). Having owned an Italian car the first thing I did was renew my AA membership. You should ring Fiat and tell them that one of their engines lasted 900 miles without at least two stints on a hard shoulderWing Commander wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 6:41 pm I once did about 900 miles in one day. It was in my first car, a little black Fiat Uno. With a 1.2 litre petrol engine if I recall correctly. And the car's electrics did not like wet weather!
Brighton to Weston Super Mare to Scotland and back!
