Posted in the macanforum.com in the US:

As you will know by now, we at Zunsport, are always extending the range of our grilles for models and variants. The 2017 GTS
is of interest to us and your interest reinforces that. If someone with a Macan in the UK can work with us we can have a grille set for this
model ready in short time. If you can help let us know - you will be rewarded (see our Development Cars section on
https://www.zunsport.com/development- vehicles

Are there any Macan owners in the UK willing to participate in this activity? How about 2015 and/or 2016 model years?

Thank you.

How do I put this nicely?

Porsche spend millions on aerodynamics and airflow management.

The grills on a Macan are dynamic.

Only an idiot would fit an aftermarket product grill to an already stunning car and spoil said airflow.

Plus do you realise that fitting a product like these grills will invalidate the UK warranty.

Finally, if you post a link it is a good idea to test it out.

I do wonder about potential damage to exposed radiator fins on these cars. I personally have had a few issues with my old cayman with the whole front end intakes being covered with leaves in the autumn and they are a bugger to get out especially when wet. Long and short there is mileage in something like this and a few people on Pistonheads have added grills to their 911s for protective purposes. So no not idiotic at all!

I'm afraid I've been at it again, this time on the Cayenne. It looks a bit like a small child has enjoyed an icecream.
I've used 40% punched aluminium (that's 40% holes) used for security screens. The car has couped with one of our hottest summers without overheating. The service manager has no problem with it- better than trying to straighten radiator fins.

It seems some 'idiots' in the motorsport division in Weissach fitted something that looks very similar to my GT4.

Why are you in fear of invalidating the warranty? You would have to be able to prove the failure was linked to the modification. Warranty impact modifications I accept to a point, particularly relating to electronic modifications or critical dependency parts. This is a Macan at the end of the day, not a high down force track car and I can't see the right gauge of mesh impacting air flow for cooling and aerodynamics anyway. Look at the 2017 911 RSR for example.

An established supplier like Zun Sport is not going to beta a product that hasn't had sufficient development effort applied to it and be near market ready. People who can afford Porsches can also afford lawyers.

Personally I know several 911 owners who have fitted these grills to their NEW vehicles to protect the radiators from stone damage a debris build up,in fact some variants of the 911 come with these grills already fitted.

I made my original post because I'm located in the U.S. Despite the Macan's traction systems, it
will not likely allow me to drive across the pond in order to assist the folks at Zunsport in getting
their guards developed.

That's why I forwarded/posted their comment from the U.S. forum in this one - to ask if any U.K.
forum members were interested in participating in this project.

(I'm not sure where the air conditioning grilles are located on the Macan. My understanding is the
radiator-like structures behind the front spoiler and in front of the tires are for cooling the air for
the turbines (turbo heat exchangers).

Believe me this is generally a very friendly forum and I'm sorry you received such an antagonistic response. Zunsport are a well know provider of good quality aftermarket products.
