I'm getting seriously cheesed off with Porsche.
Over 4 weeks ago, my Macan (petrol S with 31k miles, registered Dec 15) was trailered off to the local OPC and a Transfer Box failure was diagnosed.
On that day I was told that the new box would come from Germany and I would be back on the road in 10 days. Since then, silence from the OPC except when I've phoned up to ask what's going on. Supposedly, I have gone on to some 'priority' system.
As of yesterday, the only thing they could tell me was that the replacement was still not in the UK.
I have written to Porsche UK, via their online complaints system (is there a better way?), but not sure that will do any good.
Has anyone else experienced such delays, or know the real reason? The service guy at OPC told me, in a stage whisper, that transfer box failure was becoming a big problem in the Macan
Transfer Box replacement - when will it ever get here?
Not on Twitter, so no tweeting from me, I'm afraid.
My loan car from Enterprise was initially a Mercedes C class saloon, which I believe is the standard Porsche assistance loan car. However, I bought a Macan to carry more than a saloon, so asked for an estate car. Have ended up with a diesel Toyota Avensis estate - a bit of a come down from a Macan! I wasn't displeased initially as I thought it would only be for a short time, but as the weeks go by, its a wearisome substitute.

1. Ask your OPC for a loan car. They should be able to get you into a Porsche. When the transfer box issue happened to me, I was given a Cayennne V8 diesel.
2. It took 48hrs from my delivering the car to my OPC (Porsche Sutton Coldfield) to my driving away with a new transfer box fitted.
Assuming you are not too far way from your OPC, go and see them in person and very politely ask them to take their thumb out of their bum and get things moving.
Good Luck

Probably no coincidence as Wolverhampton and Sutton Coldfield are part of the same group. In fact, Plan A was for Sutton to close and move to Wolverhampton. When the new premises opened after much delay there was what amounted to a client mutiny. Hence, Plan B and two dealerships.

+1. The very least they can do is to give you a Macan or Cayenne loaner, or Panamera, rather than a diesel Toyota!
Sounds like Porsche are running low, or have run out of transfer boxes, if they're admitting it's become a widespread issue.

My car was in on 16-May, back with me on 9-Jun. I was on holiday in between so it worked out perfectly for me.
We did communicate in between and I was told that the transfer box was in backorder. They only got it in the afternoon of 7-Jun.
Car is a lot smoother but still gets the jolts once in a blue moon at around 2000 rpm between 1st to 3rd gear. Service advisor thinks it is normal with the PDK but reassured me that I will get a senior tech to test drive with when mine goes in again for the 40000 miles service.
Hope you get yours soon.
