Hi Folks

I know there has been some discussion on the forum about damaged radiators due to stones and the use of grilles to protect them.

I've been making some enquiries and spoke to Peter Langston who is the managing director of Zunsport to see if there was a product on the horizon. I gather that they have not been able to get hold of a vehicle to properly check tolerances on the active aero which impacts the fixing points - they use spring loaded stainless steel clips which need an anchor point from what I know of their other products.

There is sufficient demand that it's viable to produce them but based on drawings they're concerned that the active aero may be problematic. However, with a physical check, they may be able to come up with a solution.

If anyone is interested and Wolverhampton/Birmingham based, Peter said he'd really like to have a chat and have chance to look at a vehicle - his email is peterlangston[at]zunsport.co.uk.

I'm sure you could make an arrangement regarding costs/time and a free set.

I have no commercial interest other than considering purchase of the final product.

Thanks

Alex

I sent an email to them. I have a Turbo PP with those Aero grilles. They said they can't do it.

I guess it depends who you spoke to and when. I posted that about 10 minutes after I spoke to the MD who was still keen to find a solution and required a car to properly look at. If you just went through to a generic sales person who had no concept of service, yeah, they don't do them.

I shall try to speak to Peter when time permits. But they took 3 days to come back to me which would imply either the guy spoke to people there to then make q decision or just sat on the email for a fee days and then sent a reply.

This is what I received.

We understand from our Porsche dealers in the UK that your model is fitted with an Active=Cowl flap that rotates on the moulding.

This unfortunately affects the fitting of our grilles so we are unable to offer a grille kit to fit your model.

I’m sorry we can’t help you at this time.

Best regards,

Ashley Haynes

I'm not disputing what you're saying.

When I spoke to Peter, he said that they'd had more than a dozen enquiries of late and there is clearly demand. He is keen to come up with a solution as it's obviously in his commercial interest but he needs a car to look at properly and I gather that he hasn't been able to get hold of one to figure out an alternative fixing method that won't foul the louvres.
