Noticed today some leaves and gunk under the bonnet trim. On closer inspection it was mainly salt from the winter roads.
So, trim off and time to give it a good clean.
Then a wipe over with WD40 to help any surface rust and finally 303 Aerospace on the plastics.
Cleaning under bonnet trim
Just the 2 button clips at thr top to remove the trim?

Can I suggest that you check out a product called ACF50, and if you like what you find out then using it on metalwork instead of WD40 would be a better option.
It is a product that I and If I remember right Nuclear Nick have used on our respective motorcycles with fantastic results for many years.
Simply spray it on, it turns pink so you can see where contact has been made, work it in with a new paintbrush and leave, it dries clear.

4 plastic spreader clips, plus unclip and remove the handle, then it pulls out from a number of trim clips in the body.

ACF50 gets my vote too. I have a BMW R1200RT and whilst I do like BMW motorcycles, sadly their quality is not as good as it used to be, particularly regarding fastenings. However, an annual coating of ACF50 keeps them looking like new and easy to remove.
So when is this ‘old enough to know better’ supposed to kick in ?
