So I just thought I'd put a little post on here to say that after a very very long wait my SD that was built in February was delivered a few weeks ago! My main reason for posting is just to highlight the amazing service I've had from the team at Porsche Centre Silverstone while we've all been waiting for my car (amongst others) to be released from the factory.

Craig (who's registered on here) was the salesman and was fantastic at generally keeping in touch and getting updates on what was going on. Shane, the Sales Manager at Silverstone, was also great at fishing updates and information out of Porsche GB and Germany when that was required. Overall, despite getting a car delivered several months late, I still feel like it's been the most straightforward car buying experience I've ever had, and the dealer service certainly surpassed any of my previous purchases from Audi or Subaru.

Interestingly the mystery software update that's been done doesn't seem to have done anything particularly noticeable to how the car drives compared to the two I had on test other than perhaps being slightly more ready to change up a gear when not in sport mode.

Nice story; I recall the beginnings many months ago! Good to hear you were well looked after.

I still cannot understand the delay. I can only guess that your car must have been one of the last batch of diesels. My SD was registered in February although not sure of its exact build date. I suspect that any software changes were minimal.

Congratulations on finally becoming a Macaneer! :)

I’ve heard good things of Silverstone OPC, not only on here.

Happy motoring!

I can only echo other peoples comments regarding Silverstone OPC. My SE, Mac, is a pleasure to deal with and goes out of his way for us, were already looking at purchasing our second Porsche from him very soon to replace the TTS.
