My last GTS built in April 16 didn't have it as you had to specify Connect Plus as an option and at the time I didn't see the value. My new GTS built I believe in May or June this year has got it as Connect Plus is now standard and I think was made standard for the 17 model year as part of a price increase in late 16.

Thank you for all the responses. My OPC has directly checked with Porsche and the GTS does not have CarPlay. I am having it retrofitted and pick up car next week. Will be a bit different from my Cayenne Diesel.

I didn't speck Car Play. But in theory it should still work. Had an original ipod, (with the wheel in the centre). Connected via the usb in the centre console. Like gtipirelli, sometimes it would be ok, but most times not. Advised by OPC, that ipod needs to be updated. Not possible with the original type, so got a new ipod touch, which is possible for the software to be updated. But still problomatic. Been to the OPC on a few occasions with it, but they are unable to rectify it. The PCM screen shows all different messages on start up. USB, no device detected, device not supported, device not compatible. It's a real nightmare. Last visit to OPC said, not official Apple usb/lightening cable. Which it was, bought specifically to eliminate problems. Used original ipod on last car, a Merc, and worked perfectly every single time, for 10 years. Porsche could maybe look at thier software.

I held down the off button for 20 seconds this morning whilst my old iPhone was connected and when the PCM came back on it recognised it as a car play device immediately. I think my PCM just needed that reset. I will see what happens next time I drive it but think it may have resolved itself

🤔 Why? If you didn’t spec it, you haven’t got it surely.....?

If it's the system that plays via the usb connector in the glove box. And shows on the PCM screen, it's definitely there and is working, sometimes. I definitely did not spec' it. My jam jar is a Sept. 2017 model, if that makes any difference.

To save any confusion if you don’t see a screen like this then it’s not carplay.
Playing music from an iPod is not carplay

Your phone needs to support newer iOS versions for car play to work. The old iPods are not carplay compatible.
