1. Read the manual, as it covers both points.

;)
Actually the manual for facelift does cover the Fuel point (Min ron 98 recommended, 95 by exception) but I can find no mention of running in/ `st thousand miles driving etc in either the booklet supplied with the car or the "good to know" app for the facelift. apologies if I have missed something, if so please supply facelift manual section no/ page no.

In my Good to Know app, the running in guidance is shown in the first ‘chapter’. See below:

That is definitely not present in Android Good to know app for Macan 2. search "new vehicle" and no matches. The only match for "first" is first aid kit.

SAC1 wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2019 9:54 am I'm a tyre man and you should run new tyres in gently to bed in properly for 100 miles. This will include no rapid acceleration or harsh. In a perfect world at 50 mph max too. :geek:

I will leave it to other more qualified contributors to talk about the mechanical side.
It's no use contacting the factory either. The markers on the tyres, which are put there by the tyre manufacturers, to show the fitters where to place them in relation to the valve. Aren't even correctly placed when a new car comes from them. All that engineering technology down the drain.
Yes the coloured paint spots on OE tyres should be aligned to the valve stem [hole]. Wheels and tyres are not possible to be manufactured perfectly round, so high and low spot matching for optimum uniformity / balance. It used to be done when tyres were fitted to the wheels by humans on the production line, but it's now an automated mounting process. Applying wheel weights are now the final balancing solution for the assembly line.

I think the search function in Good To Know is limited. Try browsing through the first chapter in the User Guide entitled ‘Same driving pleasure, more safety’

Out of interest, does the facelifted Macan guidance also quote no more than 4,000rpm in the first 1,865 miles?
