I would like to think that we are splitting hair and the outcome is inconsequential. Unfortunately it’s not, as our resale value will typically get hit with a release of a newer model.
So, given the artifacts available to us, the question is which one is correct?
1. The “MACAN II” sticker attached to the vehicle in the factory, hopefully printed from an integrated SAP ERP Sales & Distribution system, or
2. The “Macan generation 1(II)” picklist/menu on a Porsche website, hopefully integrated with the SAP ERP Sales & Distribution system.
3. Any new/additional artifacts?
On the balance of probabilities... any resident experts?

Macan Turbo re-sale figures
Bennachie did mention further up that the 2nd gen Macan will be electric according to Porsche, so that will be a totally different proposition to our petrols, which will in time become the devil's fuel.
My other half (Red5 on here) attended the Porsche Range driving experience at Silverstone today and one of the established instructors there mentioned that the Macan 2 will be electric / hybrid, which would confirm that. Available sometime in 2021.

He did indeed thank you
VIsit no:5!
All fun and games aside, I find the trick to the best day, is to always make sure to insist your instructor/s take you for a couple of fast laps. 992 and GT4 are great, but breathtaking in the hands of the professionals
It was during my facelift Macan drive, that I was asking about the new model. Macan 2 / electrification were then mentioned.
Btw, the 718 is also referred to as the 981.2, but that’s another story
I would say you are an expert in over thinking thingsPivot wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2019 9:12 pm I would like to think that we are splitting hair and the outcome is inconsequential. Unfortunately it’s not, as our resale value will typically get hit with a release of a newer model.

Unless you bought a late 2018 car new or newly used (esp if loaded with extras) you are not going to be too badly hit
Someone buying a mark 2, a 1.2, whatever of my car will pay 30k more for a light strip and bigger LCD screen (and IMO a less desirable engine) so it’s a different purchasing prospect to buying a 2017 car for 30k less.
Market may soften a little as supply increases if many swap to newer model but that is irrespective of nomenclature

Haha, nope
The 5 will not be changing. I’ve been ‘Red5’ for over 25 years
Only three times!
I’m winning at something then
I doubt it will get to six though! This is not an addiction, as I can stop any time I want to

Yeah, that would fit the timescale better! Red5 is probably younger than me!
