In anticipation of ordering a Macan GTS and curious about what I might pay for insurance I obtained a couple of quotes and was pleasantly surprised at the results.

When I had my SD in 2016 my insurance cost £501 for the first year and £512 for the 2nd year.

This was based on 9yrs protected NCB, 20,000 annual mileage with business use, 2nd driver and living in a non city area.

Car value was £66k and excess was about £350.

I have now run two quotes based on a vehicle value of £71,000 and all other details as per above.

For a zero excess and protected NCB I was quoted £433.
The same but with a £350 excess I was quoted £354.

This is over £150 cheaper for a more expensive vehicle.
OK, so I'm a couple of years older but I'm surprised at the drop in cost.

The cheapest quotes were with LV.

When I had my SD I insured with NFU.

Although they are renowned for being more expensive when I was with them they were on a comparison with others I obtained quotes from.

I forgot to add that my quote included a courtesy car but not legal costs as I have this covered elsewhere.

Given the value of the car I think it's a very good price.

My wife and I insure a Macan (10k miles), Boxster (5k) and BMW 640D (10k) for c£1200 p.a. with NFU. We have 5-9 years NCB and are 60+. Yours looks like an unbeatable deal.

911 GTS £300 with NFU (no tracker required) and wife's Q5 £400 so £700 pa for both cars is a bit of a bargain in my opinion
Current - 991.2 GTS C4 GT Silver
Previous: Macan GTS Night Blue
Previous: 981 Cayman S Agate
