Please do NOT say the wait will be worth it !
I paid and signed the paperwork for a car I have no idea when/if I will ever get.
Why are dealers able to receive new cars for other mugs to part with their monies on the hope of getting what it says on the tin to coin a successful business quote.
This was to be my first Porsche - this will not be the case if I have to wait much longer .

The wait most certainly is NOT worth it as Porsche are failing in their part of the signed contracts - if they need money take out a business loan and stop conning potential customers out of their well earned cash, oh sorry pitiful £3k must be a drop in the ocean - eh not on your nelly

When did you place your order, and what were you promised?

Sounds a bit dramatic!

It will turn up, they all do eventually it is only a car

The tracking systems are notoriously rubbish.

Back in 2008 we ordered 3 new cars all to arrive at the same time

I had a new shape X5 twin turbo coming which was coming from the States as that was where they were built - tracking was ok

Mrs had new shape V6 TT roadster. That one went awol for a bit too, later have been located as written off on the boat over

My old exige S couldn’t be found anywhere despite being bright orange and built just 300 miles or so away - it was comical but turned up and we loved them all eventually despite some frustrations as they should have all arrived on 1 March 08 as the plate changed.

Not the end of the world.

I waited 14 months for my first SD back in the day, and 9 months for my GTS which was delayed because of PCM shortage (the earthquake in Japan in May ‘16 affected the factory where the screens are produced.)

re - mkcycle21

I can’t imagine your signed contract has a guaranteed delivery date on it; at best it will be an anticipated date. If you have made the mention on the contract that “time is of the essence” then you will be able to cancel and get a refund in full when the specified date has passed.

I feel your frustration but do really imagine the dealership would deliberately NOT sell you a car?

I can assure you that NOT delivering your car will NOT help them achieve their targets (manufacturer or internal.)

Delivery delays are apparent with most manufactures (I don't agree it should happen but it does). When ordering a Audi Q5 when they were launched in 2009/10 our car was delayed by 6 weeks. I had no car at teh time as my previous lease car was returned. With some convincing Audi provided a load car to bridge the gap. It maybe worth pursing this route with your supplying dealer.

Either way hope it turns up soon as it can deffo be frustrating.

^^^ +1. When the delivery of my new Panamera 4 was delayed, the Sales Manager at my OPC lent me her BMW 4-Series Convertible until my new car arrived. :)

Well done, Tewkesbury.

Sounds like it was ordered early September. Three months is nothing to wait for a Porsche..........

The factory are promised parts from all over the world by a certain date, the dealers are promised cars from Porsche Germany by a certain date, joe bloggs is on a promise from the dealer.....
Quite an impressive & complex chain as every car is effectively bespoke. But admittedly if your choice of wheels, seats or whatever is delayed you’d think in this day & age that could be fed back to the OPC automatically with an updated completion date.
I was made aware of a fiasco with Audi S4/RS4 orders before opting for my Macan, there are much worse offenders than Porsche!!

I never had a problem with built-to-order BMW’s, and I had a few.
Porsche is more niche vehicle, delays in the delivery increase scarcity and might help maintain resale value [emoji41]
