I specced a GTS with the "extras I have on my facelift S and a GTS with same extras is about £3.5K more. For that, I would get the lowered suspension. 26 more BHP, sports exhaust and GTS look which includes the tinted rear light bar ( which I do not personally like).

It would be interesting to see a comparison of power and torque curves for current S, GTS and Turbo

The main attraction for me would be any handling improvements from lowered suspension and I would need to have a test drive before purchase to confirm worthwhile or otherwise whether worth trading in a one-year-old S. I am not a sports exhaust enthusiast and I prefer a quiet engine like the new S. In the Uk South East, I rarely get the opportunity to legally use anything like the full power of the S

Quick question to those that have experienced both variants - turbo or GTS? Is the turbo more refined than the GTS?

No one is going to able to answer this for current cars in production until new GTS available to test drive alongside new Turbo as post-facelift engines have little relation to pre-facelift models.

Cannot see any reason to change my 2016 GTS for this given that it would cost name around £35k + to do it :-) and my GTS only has 16K miles on it.

I'm going to wait to see what the fully electric version looks like although I am getting tempted by the Polestar 2 at the moment.

I thought I liked well-specced but managed to keep my preferred spec to £74.5 K

The car market has changed substantially since the first Macan's and GTS's were launched. I suspect last of new car orders is the reason the new facelift GTS as appeared so soon after facelift Turbo. As the world moves towards more restrictions on large engined ICE cars and moves to EV any large engined ICE car bought new today bought by enthusiasts as a last pleasure as a large depreciation risk

I'm thinking the same; maybe a bit strong to say "any reason" as it's always nice to have a new car, and the latest and greatest of course. But £35k is a load of cash to spaff up the wall (or whatever the fashionable term is) for this privilege.
