Hi all,

My local OPC quoted me £788 inc to add Carplay to my MY17 Macan SD.

He says the software is £305 meaning they want £483 in labour costs to perform the upgrade.

The software cost was what I expected but labour does seem very expensive just to upgrade the software.

Has anyone had this done at their OPC and can say if this sounds about right?

Many thanks :-)

Leeds OPC just charged me £325 inc VAT to have it fitted to my 2016 SD last Sept.

Think your OPC is a bit off the mark! Isn’t it quoted in the Tech Equipment guide as £325?

Unless your particular car hasn’t got voice control.......

OP,

Labour costs should be minimal -it's a simple system update via cable. No additional equipment installation required. I had Apple Car Play installed by an OPC in December for £300.

Hope this helps.

Does your car have to have Nav already installed to have car play added. We don’t have nav or connect in our October 2016 Macan but would quite like CarPlay now

Thank you, had a feeling that was the case with Porsche. Annoying as my mum has a Japanese car that also does not have Nav but does have CarPlay and android auto

Even the scabby French rental car we had in Madeira last year had Car-play 😉
