Drivers window lowers to half down when locking

I woke up this morning to find I had a keyfob malfunction (permananet red light on the keyfob) but also found that my car windows were down and the vehicle was unlocked. I used the second (spare) keyfob to wind up the windows and lock it, but when I hold the "lock" symbol on the good keyfob, the mirrors retract (as they should) but also the drivers window lowers itself to half position.

I tried following the procedure for resetting windows after main battery disconnection, but that does not work, as holding the window button to raise it to the top results in the window raising to the top then lowering itself to half way again ! I don't think this is a door microswitch issue, as it only occured after the keyfob 1 red light came on. I don't think this is a corrupted "comfort" setting either, as I don't believe that controls the windows.

Any ideas ?

Thanks.

Will the window auto close to the shut position? If not, and you are attempting to set the closed position, try opening the window fully after a failed attempt, then try again. Try this a few times from fully open to fully shut and back to fully open. It may take a few goes but it should eventually auto close. Is your battery voltage good? Are the seals clean? You could try a silicone lubricant on the seals.

Thanks Nick ! Repeatedly winding the windows up and down seemed to do the trick. That allowed me to then calibrate the end stops to make double sure (as per new battery procedure).
Interestingly (?) my windows have now travelled further than the car in the last day or so...

I had a similar problem with my windows some time back. I got a solution from the service manager at the OPC which worked and which is in the last post in the below link . . .
