I hadn't driven my SD for 2 months until today. Previously, I've always left it in 'normal' mode and been quite happy with its performance etc. What driving I have done, has been in the Ms Clubman S, which isn't exactly a rocket ship, but for the first few minutes this morning, the SD felt as though it had an anchor out the back, so sluggish was its responsiveness. I had to up switch to Sport, then soften off the suspension to Comfort, to make it drive anywhere near decently. Its weird how you adapt to things over a period of time! I guess we may have to adapt many aspects of our lives, coming out of this gawd awful business of C19?

I decided to get more active, to build up my immune system, as we are genetically programmed to fight off viruses. For the last two months, every morning I am doing push-ups and I ride bicycle in the afternoon ~ every second day.
I decided that something positive must come out of this fiasco. So, in my 50’s I am firming-up my body and I am feeling much better. Having said that, I caught a flu and I had high temperature for 3 days. I shook-it off with lots of tea with whisky and honey
What added to my motivation to exercise, was an interesting research from Germany... apparently no-one in Hamburg died of CV19 alone, all people that passed and were tested as CV-positive, had other pre-existing conditions. CV finished them off. I decided that I am Too young to go into hiding until chems or vaccine becomes available.

It's a really good idea to get fitter and perhaps even more so as you get older. IMHO not enough emphasis has been put on health and fitness in terms of safe guarding against coronavirus, not to mention countless other life threatening illnesses. It's pretty shocking that two thirds of the UK adult population are overweight and nearly 30% are obese. A healthy diet and a bit of exercise is the very least we can do for ourselves, yet most people simply don't do it. Maybe this pandemic should be a wake up call.Pivot wrote: ↑Sat May 23, 2020 11:22 pm I decided to get more active, to build up my immune system, as we are genetically programmed to fight off viruses. I've started to take Zinc and Copper supplements after watching a YouTube video. Apparently, as you get older, the body doesn't absorb stuff from food as efficiently so you have to top it up. Supposed to invigorate the immune system too. Just before that, I move a considerable number of heavy stones from the garden to a skip by wheelbarrow. Couldn't shift all of them and the next day my Gluts (bum) felt very tight so I've kept a few and push the thing up and down Captain Tom style. Started on 5 minutes and I'm up to 15. I have lost some weight and feel tauter and will continue this even in the winter (but I know I won't in the winter). The worlds biggest killer of men over 60 is the armchair.Pivot wrote: ↑Sat May 23, 2020 11:22 pm I decided to get more active, to build up my immune system, as we are genetically programmed to fight off viruses.
