Hi,

Has anyone here had power steering plus retro fitted? If so how much did the OPC charge you?

Thanks

Bob

So I've done some digging. Porsche website has a guide price of £263, local OPC has quoted £300 with potentially a small discount.

Am considering it now, and will insist on the Porsche catalogue price, otherwise what’s the point? Shop around if you can....

The website does state that it is a guide price only but yes I agree - should be advertised price.

I'm in 2 minds about it - my other car is a VW T25 so I'm used to heavy steering

I'm seriously considering getting it removed from my Cayenne. Just to light and limp wristed for me, even if it does only lighten things below 30mph or so.

I had it done a fews ago at Leicester for £263.
Wouldn't now be without it as it's made a huge difference to the steering at low speeds.

It's completely unnecessary. I'm on the other side here. My dealer told me it was a must. It most certainly isn't, my car doesn't have it and it feels perfect. I hate the light overassisted systems on most newer cars. I decided to buy and my dealer agreed they would put it on as an extra for the OPTION price, should I decide it was too heavy.

Didn't have it on my SD. Have it on my GTS and it's great. Steering is smooth and easy at manoeuvring low speed. Makes no difference at higher speeds of course.

My first two SDs did not have power steering plus but my current SD does and now would always spec it.

Mine 2019 Macan S has it (I specced it) but in my opinion the steering is actually still too heavy. There's nothing light about it. So much so that i'm wondering if they forgot to actually put it on the car. Certainly a lot heavier than the steering in my RS3, and by no means a one hand electronically assisted type job.

Would be interested to hear how light people find their steering who have it on their cars?
