I got my Service 3 Oil Change required message pop-up on my Macan Turbo PP.

Very odd, had had a Intermediate 2yr service done last year one year ago exactly and I have done barely 5k miles in that period of time. At the beginning I thought they had put the wrong service reminder in the onboard computer but the OPC did indeed advise they sometimes need the intermediate oil service based on mileage and usage.

Strange as mileage is low, oil level on the computer shows bang on in the middle of the range, and I didn't tow a boat or done anything special with the car. Didn't even have this with my GT3.. but hey..

Am abroad so will have to book it in at a local OPC as I have couple of k miles to do on the way back to the UK later in August, best to do it on fresh oil !

As lockdown meant you did some short journeys where the car was shut down having only just got oil up to temp say 90 deg C and not been run long enough for the contaminants generated by start up to be evaporated off?

Our may 19 car has just requested service at 8k miles.

I tend to make sure it doesn’t do many short journeys but clearly the computer says otherwise!

Personally I think 2 years between servicing is too much anyway

I’ve also a May ‘19 car requesting fresh oil at 6,100 miles, I’m not overly impressed to be honest.

....that’s because we are now August ‘20 and the oil is 14 months old and been used only on shorter runs.....

Thanks for doing the maths. I actually live a couple of hundred miles from an OPC, the two year service interval was an attractive option when selecting a new car. So two trips to the OPC for warrantee work and a premature oil change requirement ‘calculated’ by overly cautious software but most likely not essential...... I’m not overly impressed. And probably even less so once they charge me 300-400 quid for a 30-40 minute oil change.

And less impressed when you have warranty claims denied or are unable to extend the warranty at the end of 2 years due to not following the service schedule.

That’s cheap! At an OPC? Including the oil? 🤓
