So the car is in for it's 2nd service today (34K, almost 4 years old) and I just got the call to say the transfer box needs replacement. It was jerking a little when coming out of a junction. Almost like it was raising it's rear leg! When cold the front wheels would jerk too.
Lucky for me I do have a Porsche warranty so it's not going to cost me at all beyond the normal service cost.
On the plus side, I do have a nice 718 Boxster S on the drive. Just a pity I can't drive it due to lockdown...................
Another Transfer Box bites the dust
Sorry to hear your news
General question: Does anyone know what % of Macans have been affected by this issue?
TIA

Sorry to hear that. Any idea how long the repair will take?Ti Rich wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 1:11 pm So the car is in for it's 2nd service today (34K, almost 4 years old) and I just got the call to say the transfer box needs replacement. My car is in for the 4 year service next Monday (currently on 27000 miles) . I've noticed a slight judder when the box is changing up in town traffic , will be interesting to see whether the OPC mentions anything after a test drive (if they do one !!) . I'm covered by the warranty so no problem really.

I remember reading on here that the transfer box is covered by a 7 year warranty in the uk. Is this correct?

If you check your VIN data sheet it will show you. It should be 7 years.
