Hi, New member alert. Be kind please.....
Looking at replacing my current SUV (Merc GLC250) and like the look of the Macan. Coincidentally there appears to be a new Macan on the horizon which will soon to be formally announced so spoke with my local dealership who confirmed that in fact it will be the next generation and not a facelifted model. Porsche are due to bring to market sometime in August. Not sure whether this is good or bad news but appears that the GTS -the model I am interested in- may in fact get a decent power boost and replace the Turbo as the range topping model. May consider putting down a deposit and see how it goes as this may well be the last gas guzzling Macan before Mr Sparky takes over...
Appreciate any thoughts/advice
New gen Macan

Looks more like a facelift/spec tweak than a fundamental change to me:

Yep, I agree just quoting what my OPC said. Doesn't matter too much to me and will not affect my final decision.
Thanks for your reply.

Guess I should have asked a more pertenant question... What about a guesstimate on what the next Macan GTS will come with as standard?

Reports indicate that you will know by the 21 July with the revised configurator. Your wait for delivery of your new GTS will be much longer! So plenty of time then to read about the changes and tweak your final spec.

My OPC told me they will not change the production line to Gen 3 until all Gen 2 orders are fulfilled so I think it will be some time before Gen 3 appears

I've had a deposit down since April. OPC said production shuts down August for holidays which coincides with retooling hence only certain trims have been available for the last couple of months.
I had been offered a July build or a September one but I'm waiting as I wanted 18w seats and green which were both dropped ages ago.
OPC did say 2022 cars will certainly start production in September.
OPC called me twice in the passed 5 days after nothing for 2 months so something is brewing!!!

Ok that’s interesting, I’ve had my deposit down since Feb originally for a June build. Last week it was still on for end of July. My spec is locked and I’m told it was due into the body shop yesterday. Delivery won’t be until end of September though.Nelladrahcir wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 9:28 pm I've had a deposit down since April. Very interesting. I cannot get any sense from my OPC. I ordered in September, yes, September 2020 and whilst I have a build slot, it’s still not locked down! Communication between Porsche and OPC is unbelievably lacking to say the least.

So my deposit went in on the 29 May and build is supposed to commence on the 23rd July with arrival in the UK scheduled for 20th Aug - seemed quick to me. Gen 2 obviously.
