Re insurance and write-off, do they take into account cost of hire car? If parts aren't readily available and it takes 2 to 3 months to repair, hire car bill (I have legal cover and as it's the other party's fault I get like-for-like vehicle) will be £15k per month...3 months at that and they're looking at a total £60k cost...

...the Q7 had a nice jaunt to Kent and back yesterday...Audi's confusertor is nowhere near as confusing as Porches...just saying...

Are they going to respray the whole car? That strikes me as a lot for paint.

I don't know the answer to the hire car question but, since the other insurance company will be paying for that, I suspect it won't count.

Was the credit agreement for the loan car taken out in your name or the insurance company

There were some horror stories of the other insurance company later disputing the car hire charges leaving the customer with the hire car to pay up..

Thanks Tracky - that made me make a call to the claims company...covered by an overriding credit protection policy

Hi Neil, My Macan was also repaired at the Dick Lovett body shop in Swindon, they did an excellent job to ensure the car was returned to me in an 'as new condition' It was collected from Tewkesbury OPC on the back of a DL transporter (At my request) so there was no additional cost/mileage to get the car to/from Swindon. Mine was also a no fault claim against the other driver as it was parked in a pub car park when they just reversed out from their own parking space straight into the back of my car, at least they did not drive off!
I was provided with a Porsche Cayenne for the duration of the repair work, this ended up costing a lot more than the actual cost to repair the car. So you car will be in good hands
