Yeah, there would be that as well. I wonder if window tint would be thinner and better product so the controls would work better than thicker PPF. Window tint would still require moisture to apply, but wonder if you could use less?
I'm surprised that nobody has come up with a covering similar to what you cover an ipad screen with , goes on dry so no problem with water. I wonder if the buttons would work with this over them, no problem on an ipad or iphone. Might buy some screen covers and cut them to suit.
I’ve had mine a year now Scooby, used everyday and not one single scratch so far. I don’t like the idea of it being in mat look but it will show some finger prints. I wipe mine with a microfibre every week or so and so far so good…

You can get a cover for the PCM but I like others just use a very fine microfibre towel which works a treat. Should you get any small scratching on the piano black or similar Meguiars Scratch X followed by Meguiars Ulitmate wax works a dream. Got the latter tip via You Tube ;)

Just always use microfibre and nothing else.

The PCM comes with such a protective film, I never took it off my first car and have no intention of doing so with No.2 despite the slightly untidy looking "tag" on its top right hand corner. The buttons WILL work as it's pressure not contact that operates them, I tried them with a piece of silicon 2mm thick between finger and button and they worked just fine. The console is plastic not glass as I expected, v poor :(

All that film etc had been taken off mine at PDI time.

My wife’s Merc has touch screen everything and piano black all over place and seems still to be like new. I’d hope the Macan will be the same ;)

I did PPF of the console. For me this was one of the must-have detailing upgrades. I only wanted the center console and not the screen, but they did both anyway. I decided the screen was also better with the matte. I love the look, and it is so much easier to maintain. I cannot see any signs of the extra layer. Porsche should really consider making this another profit making option.

I believe this is the kit from XPEL. I had to Google for it because my detailer had not heard of it even though they are XPEL authorized. Best to double check. Cost for kit shows just over $90 while with installation it came to EUR 200 in Spain. Not cheap, but way better value than most Macan options.
