Hi guys,
Current owner of a very clean V6 3.0D 2011 model Cayenne showing 89k miles and just tried a 2014 Macan 3.0 V6 diesel yesterday.

The garage has rung me today telling me he cannot get a hands free kit fitted to the Macan due to some radio boosters fitted to these (???) and recommended I try to remove my Parrot kit from the Cayenne and try to retrofit it to the Macan.
To be honest this is a make or break thing for the wife.
I could use a radio tethered cigarette lighter set up which will work but I don’t think I should.
Tried looking at the PCM on the car and there was no option to add Bluetooth etc.
Anyone have an idea what’s available for a 14 Macan?

Welcome.

In the first Macan’s up to 2016 having “Mobile Phone Preparation” as it was called was an extra, the PCM was very basic.

In all honesty, I’d walk away from this one.

The Gen 1 Macans were really Gen 1A and Gen1B where in a 1A, the PCM was smaller and did jot include Car Play, even having a rear heating zone was an extra. SatNav was a paid for extra. Lights were either Halogen or Zenon, avoid any Macan with Halogen, PASM (a Must Have) was also an option unless you bought a Turbo.

You should be getting the idea that a very early Macan was basically a body, four seats and an engine everything else was a paid for extra.

I suggest only going for a 2016 with the updated PCM and includes the correct set of options.

Look on the Porsche Tequipment website for the after built fitments that are available.

Good advice from Col, if you can, go for MY 2016 I.e. post March 2016 and definitely avoid Halogens.

MY 2016 was introduced in May 2015. I know because my August 2015 SD was one. The upgraded PCM came in 2016 (whether this was with MY2017 or independently I don't know). On my SD, mobile phone preparation, Sat Nav and Three Zone Climate Control were all paid for extras. Bi Xenon headlights were also an option. Considering they had been standard on a 2000 Vauxhall Omega MV6 (and three Merc E Classes) this annoyed me but I paid up anyway.

On the early Macans, if you didn't spec the PCM option it came with the rather basic CDR+ system. It was, however, possible to specify 'Mobile Phone Preparation' with the CDR+ system.

This thread on the US forum refers: https://www.macanforum.com/threads/blue ... cdr.22858/

Page 88 of this original brochure refers to the CDR Plus system that was fitted as standard in the S and SD on launch: https://australiancar.reviews/_pdfs/Por ... 201401.pdf

(Sorry for all the edits) The official Porsche Tequipment site shows a very pricey Mobile Phone Prep retrofit for both PCM and CDR Plus - see here: https://content3.eu.porsche.com/prod/pa ... 810049F14B

Phwoar, that’s a bit salty!
I did walk even though it was a very well presented car with only 57k. It did have Xenon’s and iPod compatibility but no aux and very nice 21’s.
Thanks for the replies guys.
On the lookout for a 16MY now.

This was it. And I love the wheels. Looking at another with the other wheels but not fussy on them.
Which wheels are which?

I have the 20’ Spyders on my Turbo.

They look great BUT they are a sod to clean.

If the wheels are not ceramic coated then you can do a DIY coating using Gtechniq Wheel Armour, it took me four days to do mine.

They were coated originally but my car is now 7 years old and was in need of a recoat.

Wheel off, clean, dry, clay, apply wheel armour, leave to cure overnight then move on to the next wheel.

About 1 hour work per wheel.

The coating does make cleaning easier but its still a pain, I’d suggest the Classic wheels but it is a case of what is available, there are other more important inclusions in a build than the wheels.

I prefer the Spyder design on all model of Porsche over the Turbo wheels. Idk why but the turbo wheels never really tickled my fancy.
