Hey folks,
Visiting my sister this weekend and whilst in her Gen 1 Macan turbo I noticed a missing button (see pic).
The OPC quoted her £1300 to repair this lol
I’m not sure how or why, but perhaps it’s not the cost of the button (just plastic right!) but the labour associated with removing the console perhaps?
Does anyone have any solutions (cheap) to get this rectified? Anyone had a similar issue?
Thanks
Macan turbo button issue

There's probably a lot of console removing to be done, but suggest you take it to an indie and see what they say

If it were mine, I'd 100% have a go at that myself (although I do have a little experience). Buttons like that are usually push fit and the picture looks like half the button body is still in there. If you can gently get that out, keep hold of the block connector, re-connect the new switch and clip back in place. Worst place is removing some trim if you can't get the old one out.
I'd investigate sourcing and pricing a replacement button firstly. That will show you how much of the old one is still there

If you can unearth an exploded parts diagram showing the switch that will also help you see how it fits

I'm assuming it is similar to the other side fan control. I'd also suspect that the black rectangular piece you can see in the image is part of the switch (you can also see the contacts in the bottom). So with some gentle jiggling with some needle nose pliers and a plastic trim removal tool you should be able to get the switch out. The wiring will just be a block connector. Re-connect and push fit the new switch back in.
Definitely source the replacement switch before you start (it will show you what the old switch looks like and also where and how it is fitted). And as above, only do if you feel comfortable

Looks like Porsche would replace the whole AC control unit - see parts here: https://www.lllparts.co.uk/product/95B9 ... oss-chrome
Or you could do cheaper from eBay and have a few spares for when the other side breaks: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285038416872
EDIT: Here's a cheaper option: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/196069827422
The repair manual is available online too AFAIK.

Second eBay option would be the way to go by the look of it
Why not the third option, £82 vs £400?MooseMiller wrote: ↑Fri Dec 22, 2023 12:09 pmNice work @GuyGuy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 22, 2023 11:49 am Looks like Porsche would replace the whole AC control unit - see parts here: https://www.lllparts.co.uk/product/95B9 ... oss-chrome
