Dash Cams.

Hi, I have followed this forum for probably 5 years and found it very interesting on all subjects of the Macan.

i purchased a new macan in october 21 which is a My 22 model and today i enquired about having a Dashcam fitted to it front and rear. The OPC at Wolverhampton said my car was already pre-wired for the front camera but not the back and to supply and install would cost £1105.00.
Has anyone recently had one installed at porsche and could you give me an idea of what you paid.
I must admit i was staggered at the 3hour labour charge of £700, staggered!!!

I had mine fitted to a new MY24 (therefore pre-wired) and negotiated as part of the sale. However, I did a little checking before that so I knew the approximate costs. On a pre-wired Macan that has not been bought from a particular dealership (i.e. not discounted), it varied between roughly £780 and £1100 supplied and fitted. Note that the ~£780 is the same as the TEquipment online price and in my opinion, the most an OPC should charge but hey

Cardiff OPC just quoted me £880.00 front & back , pre wired, vat included.

Mine was pre-fitted, but my T trade in had one which I paid £720 for. OPC Swindon. Same group as Cardiff.

I checked a couple of months ago for front and rear. OPC stated my car wasn’t pre wired so could only do the front for around £800. Didn’t bother

I swapped the Viofo A119 from my wife's previous car into the Macan. Cable runs into rear passenger USB... around £100 now...

I have another to fit in the rear, avoiding screen elements.

I had a Blackvue front and rear dashcam installed.
When I sold my GTS back to the dealer, they took the car with the dashcam installed, so it would be a bit hypocritical to dictate otherwise.
