I looked at the 14 way seats but that changes the seat leather to all red, which is too much for me so I'll stick with the 8 way. I'll be the only driver so won't be changing seat positions much. Thank you all for your comments roll on March..The sale executive reckons full production will be back by Jan and my car should be built mid Feb. Just in time for a 22 plate. What words fit ??ZZ???
Why have you dropped the running boards? It’s great to listen and absorb opinion on forums but you chose them for a reason.
I chose them originally as I thought they would reduce $hit etc flying up the sides and make it easier cleaning the roof. Comments on here woke me up to the fact that getting out of the car normally means your calves rub against them. I was still umming and ahing until last Friday when I noticed an Audi TT at work had extruding side skirts and they were well polished on both sides by driver and passenger getting in and out. The owner confirmed that she hated the fact that she had to contort herself to avoid them and usually failed.

That decided it. I don't want the current Mrs Bluesnose refusing to get in unless I have polished the skirts every time.

Yeah, get the point. I too have them in my spec as I actually do like the look of them but I do also have similar thoughts on the grime element. I wish someone on here had them and could comment to help with the decision when that day comes.

I had them on a Q5 vorsprung for about a week. Audi very kindly unbolted and removed them for me FOC.
Good job too as they caught my ankle every time so painful as well as grime transfer to my leg.

Did they provide any protection from the dreaded door from the car parked next to you?

Also, and I'm whispering, I may also get some mudflaps if the rear valance gets grief. You can't if running boards are fitted.

They might have done but I only had them on for a week. To be honest I wouldn’t worry about what might/could happen otherwise we would all end up wrapping our cars in bubble wrap 😂

I had running boards on my spec - quite liked the look. Then I tested them on a demonstrator and I removed them straight away. Getting in was fine - getting out was the problem unless you ‘stepped’ onto them. But the Macan isn’t quite high enough and it was awkward. You also have to step on with the back of your shoe so heels aren’t gonna work well again when exiting.

Demonstrator … you can see the issue in the second photo. On getting out your butt is on the edge of the seat and you have to swivel out over the board and onto the ground or you step onto the board with one leg, swivel and push off onto the ground if that makes sense …

Thanks for confirming the problem. The current Mrs Bluesnose will have to get the steps out to wash the roof or learn to stand on the tyres.

I’m leaning towards removing them from my spec too given everything I’ve read. Mind you, based upon the other active posts I also need to remove the pano in case it leaks and the bonnet because they don’t line up properly. Getting a bit concerned over quality now.
