It is 3 litre turbo diesel, similar 0-60 to the S but much more torque. Crazy standard spec. on the Vorsprung version. I'll go drive it but won't be cancelling my S order but god knows how I will be able to wait. the Sq5 is on 5 months lead time as made in Mexico
I reckon you'll be right when I drive it though.

Comparison here but it's not the Vorsprung edition:

Previously had a 2015 SQ5 and one of the best cars I've owned. My GTS really reminds me of it, in a good way 😊

I currently have a 3.0TDI A5 Quattro and the engine is fantastic so much mid range torque and a relaxing motorway cruiser, but when I drove the Macan S last week for the day it put a smile on my face and as much as I love my A5 I can’t wait to get my GTS! 😀 Got a GTS for the day later this week so will post a comparison to the S

I also don’t have the extra power steering. Couldn’t see the point and absolutely didn’t, right up to the point where I drove a macan at the PEC that had it. When I got back in my car I really thought my steering had broke! Still don’t think I’d go for it but totally see why others would.

You’ve specced well IMHO

Things i wish I’d added are really only the Bose and the sport side skirts ( not the side blades in the doors ).

I re-specced mine if you want to compare:

Could I ask, the Macan with PS+ you drove at the PEC that made you think the power steering pump had taken the day off on your S - was it a Base or an S.

Cheers

My SD was on 19" and was heavyish at parking speeds. Test drove an S on 21" and it was noticeably heavier at that speed. So specced PS+ for my GTS. It's excellent with no loss of feel at higher speeds, but easy at parking speeds. Should be a standard fitment.

To clarify, from the confuserator’s explanation on PS+. !!!

PS+

Power-assisted steering system with ability to reduce steering effort at low speeds, e. g. during manoeuvring and parking
.
.
.
The power steering on a Macan is progressive, it only works at manoeuvring speeds and it progressively reduces to ZERO assist at road going speeds.

I fail to see why anyone wants to haul around a massive set of tyres when parking rather than include PS+ and have the ability to easily park with a very light steering load, unless that is one never has to manoeuvre their car and only parks in drive in, drive out locations.

Agree, it should be standard. I have it on my Cayenne.
I've driven an S without it (heavy'ish up to 30 mph) and two bases 'with' (absolutely brilliant).
I need to test an S with PS+ to see if it makes things better. I guess it does if SAC1's GTS is much better with it.

It was an S.

The PS on my car is fine for me. Its not massively heavy, but the one at the PEC was noticeably lighter. Either that or there is an issue with mine. 🤣

Speaking to my OPC the PS Plus option can be added in dealership post sale as its just a software change
