Porsche are advertising 7 Macan GTS GEN 3’s on their website.
6 are Porsche Approved Pre-Owned and 1 Pre-Owned.

So what’s the difference?
Surely they don’t single out one and tell the potential buyer they don’t approve of it

Surely if they’re Gen III GTS models, they’ll be less than a year old and therefore still have more than two years left on the original warranty with Porsche Assist?

I think the distinction maybe down to Pre-owned being on a Sale or Return on behalf of a customer whilst Porsche Approved Pre-owned is OPC stock?

My guess is approved- pre owned has a full Porsche main dealer history. The Pre-owned doesn't.

My own Porsche was purchased from a dealer only auction.

The BMW dealer who took it in as a part exchange, passed it to their own Porsche dealership, who valued the car for him.

I had reason to speak with the salesman who secured the deal and he was shocked that his company didn't retail my vehicle as it had only 30,0000 miles and was mint in his own words.

The only fly in the ointment was that the car's last service was carried out by a well respected local independent sports car service centre and not a recognised Porsche dealership.

The difference between auction price and showroom retail ???

Very interesting!
I guess an independent sport cars service centre could modify it, voiding warranty, then return to stock, before it was sold to the next cussie. Otherwise, why bother losing warranty for few hundred quid?

None of the cars on sale are anywhere near their service levels.
All are GEN 3 and are at max 6 months old.

They even have / had, demo cars which they cannot yet sell until, in one case, November!

A bit late to the party here but I was Googling this very issue this morning and ended up here. In the end I spoke to an OPC as I couldn’t find an answer online. There is no difference, it’s a quirk of the system that some are listed as ‘pre-owned’ as opposed to ‘’Porsche approved’. Unless you’re talking a much older car (15 years +, classic, etc) then all used cars are sold to the same approved std (111 point check, 2 year warranty, all servicing completed, Porsche assistance, etc). I’d assume that SOR is on case by case basis.
