I’ve asked Porsche Leicester to fit front and rear cams to my Macan S for when I take delivery, next week. Been quoted £950 inc VAT.

Is this a new car? If so that price is wrong and is the old price that they used to charge for the front only camera. Since all the new cars have been pre wired the cost is much lower 😉

I would challenge that price.

My dealer wanted £1200 🤪. I told him I’ll take the new car to Portsmouth for the day as they’ll do it for - if I remember- £700 ish. They didn’t want me going to another OPC so matched the price.
Just bought my winter wheels and tyres and asked for a loyalty discount. They gave me 10%.

Stockport quoted me £789.90 in February but it took a lot of prodding to get to that. Initially when I enquired they knew nothing about Gen 3 being pre-wired in readiness for fitting.

May try it again at the weekend.
Airplane mode didn't work for me on my paired phone this week so I grabbed my iPad and did the hard reset procedure on the dashcam and then used the default SSID and password and it paired up just fine and then updated the firmware. After first login from reset the dashcam changes the Password and this is where I lose the will to live trying to reconnect to it.

Amazing it is so flaky after all this time and it also lost the pairing to the car wifi that worked for me originally. iPad is a solid choice unless you have hours to waste.

Thanks guys for the replies. Yes, after reading the extended threads on here about the pricing for cams fitting to a new car, I robustly challenged the £950 - quoting others experiences and dealer pricing. They wouldn't budge. I was told that I could take the parts for £789.90 (inc VAT) and fit myself. Full price for supply and fitting was £1020, so they had discounted  . I agree £160 for simple fitting is ridiculous - but aren't the charges for all Porsche dealer servicing similarly outrageous ? I wanted the cams fitted from taking delivery and so have, reluctantly, swallowed the £950. Sorry but the hassle, fuel cost and time for a round-trip of 400 miles to Portsmouth isn't feasible for me, a fact not lost on Porsche Leicester. Take it easy on a newbie

My autism's just kicked in... so before Tracky says it, with a user name like yours can we be sure it is the software that's flakey? Please don't go!

My dealer also 'ball-parked' me a figure of £1200 as he had just arranged one. Now keeping an eye out for me allegedly for any deal or offer. That is over £400 to fit

Those figures are just wrong. Ring one of the Porsche GB dealers like Guildford or Reading to get a proper price.

With the pre wired cars the price shouldn’t be more than around £700 including the cameras.
