A lot to do with availability. a friend's brother-in-law wanted to replace a leased Skoda Karoq with another but too long await. Hyundai Tucson one of the few cars of type and size readily available.

Yep. And possibly the Merc C-Class may have dipped into the top ten on occasion in the past.
I guess that the VW Golf is the nearest to a ‘premium’ car in the latest top ten.
