When I enquired (last year) I was told the delivery would be 2023 (now looks more like 2024) but I could put a deposit down now and be at the front of the queue

Has anyone put down a deposit - what have you been told in terms of:

1. Price i.e. were you given a price and does the deposit lock in that price?
2. Spec could you spec it out colour. wheels, suspension. seats etc.?
3. Return of deposit e.g. if delivery goes to 2025 can you get your deposit back

There won’t be any details of pricing or spec.

I would think you could get your deposit back.

There are no official deposits. What you are doing is paying the OPC to go on a local list (excel spreadsheet) to be contacted, in order, to see if you will pay a full deposit (order) when prices and specs are released.

Based on other manufacturers I’d be surprised if the base price of this car is below £75K

It’ll be the new top of the range, replacing the Turbo and pushing the GTS down a rung. Its why they didn’t do a new Turbo. I suspect it may even be badged as Turbo like the Tycan. So I think a starting price of £75k seems about right.

I also think it will be their biggest selling car.

Is this actually confirmed? I saw someone else on the forum state this but haven’t seen that info from Porsche directly?

It was always discussed as a separate model which I would see as being the case as they will want to build a range of models and power outputs like they have with the Taycan.

^^^ I think that folks are just guessing (about the ‘Turbo’ version of the Macan EV being the first model to be launched), as I think that the Turbo was the first Taycan model launched in the UK.

I am expecting £85 to £90K for a reasonably kitted Macan EV Turbo as1st model in the range. There has been press comment saying Turbo labelled EV first.

When you come to subsequent cheaper models the real savings in production costs come from cutting battery capacity rather than power and range maters for most at present time with EV's especially with less aero dynamic vehicles like SUV's. I could see the base Macan EV being 2wd

Re question 1, no, deposit does not lock in the price unless you have it in writing that it will, but I think it unlikely you will get that commitment. Certainly not at the ‘expression of interest’ stage.
