Probably buying a car that is a similar colour to the road is not a great idea
TrueJon A wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 11:35 amNot sure I agree with this - it can look dull but only if completely filthy (same as many colours). Mine has never been that dirty as it is cleaned every couple of weeks and so has always looked shiny and glossy.
I never understand what folks mean when they say words like “brave” or “safe” when it comes to colours, just get whatever makes you feel good when you look at it, it’s only a colour!!
There is even a bit of debate on whether black is even a proper colour
My dad has a volcano grey on his S and i can't say ive ever struggled to see it. I wouldn't buy red just on the basis of visibility but if that's what you do, fair play.
Any debate on colour choice is pointless, it’s entirely subjective. And about how “brave” you are apparently…

Carmine is a great colour and JonA did a great job on getting the aesthetics right on his. To me you are asking about a more sporty look but keeping the wheels standard. I don’t think this combination works on Carmine Red - you need to go big or go home on this colour IMO. Silver would work.HPC Eddy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 9:22 am Do I want a really safe colour or something a bit more sporty looking??? Thinking of Silver with black door handles and black exhausts etc PP4CIC44 or Red but cant justify Black exhausts PPEK41U6 due to Porche wanting an extra £1k for non metallic paint!
Does anybody have any 'real life' photos of a Carmine Red MY22/23 ideally with Standard S wheels (cant justify changing to darker ones)
Good luck with your choice. I went from being convinced about Night Blue/Mohave to Volcano/Mohave and finally settled on Gentian/Pebble 2 weeks before lockdown so had the same dilemma about not wanting to be safe on the colour choice.

Red will work well but agree wheels are important aspect. If I were speccing standard wheels with red I might get them powder coated in satin black which would look great. That would cost about £400 all in to do…HPC Eddy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 9:22 am Getting close to my lockdown date...spec sorted PPW4V193 with a budget overshoot of just £149....even managed to keep it out of the top CO2 bracket (just)
And then... I live near Goodwood and spent a couple of days watching all sorts of amazing cars driving through my village heading for the Festival of Speed. My colour choice until now had been volcanic grey, which to my eyes really suits the shape of the Macan, however my head was turned by a Carmine Red car and suddenly I have been thrown into a panic....

Hear, hear. Buy what makes you happy! I am extremely happy with my fun and ‘safe’ colour!! Go PTS! Go Yellow!
P.S. Am bored of driving past ‘prestige’ brand dealerships, seeing relentless rows of monochrome (safe!?) cars...
