Is 1.5 bar (22psi) at 2000rpm with oil temp at 110° normal? The last car I had with a pressure gauge 50-75psi was the norm.

Are you a Gen2 S? Certainly on mine I rarely see the oil pressure above 1.5 barBluesnose1812 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 9:37 am Is 1.5 bar (22psi) at 2000rpm with oil temp at 110° normal? The last car I had with a pressure gauge 50-75psi was the norm.

22psi is perfectly normal on a light throttle. Assuming you have the oil pressure showing in the MFD screen, when you have clear space in front of you press firmly on the loud pedal. You'll see the oil pressure double. There's some sort of load sensing device that increases oil pressure on wider throttle openings. Don't forget, with 375hp on tap you need to check for the open space before you try thisBluesnose1812 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 9:37 am Is 1.5 bar (22psi) at 2000rpm with oil temp at 110° normal? Thanks for confirming. I half assumed it was OK. The modern machining tolerances probably explains why "running in" is not so important as 20 years ago.On-Track wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 10:01 am22psi is perfectly normal on a light throttle. The lubrication system is 'quite clever' in that it regulates pressure. Keeping it low when it does not have to be high in order to make the engine more efficient and therefore use less fuel. The DME regulates oil pressure according to load, throttle opening etc. and not just the 'usual' temperature and pressure relief valve.
