You will love the Macan for all sorts of reasons I think, the T looks great too 👍
Re fuel, I had a base for a week and managed overall consumption of 26.5 mpg (not many long trips)
My current overall average in the S is 25.8 mpg (5k miles) so you’re wife might be slightly disappointed on that score… 😂

Haven’t driven the S as I know I’ll most likely want it and a further 12 month wait isn’t on. Maybe when I pick up the T I’ll put a deposit down on the S. Mrs C doesn’t want a 6 cylinder “thirsty” car. And to be honest I am at an age that I don’t hoon the car anymore. 🤣🤣. I love my little Golf GTi PP so if the Macan T feels similar to drive I’ll be very content. I drove the base and was pretty taken with its handling.

Decision decisions. 😎

Word of caution. My 2.0 Macan was my first Porsche, Having been welcomed into the ‘Porsche Family’, within a month I was trading in my 2.0 Macan for a pre-owned 911 Carrera! ;) :P

I’m hoping for around 35 on a long gentle run and around 26-28 shorter runs. My GTi can range from 26 to 42. If I’m wrong so be it. The Volvo drinks like a fish. 32 on a gentle run. Normal driving mix of types around 25. I think if I had an S it would be low 20s. But then a Porsche isn’t an eco box 🤣🤣

You will get 35 on a steady run, I get 33 in the S and I could probably push that up if I was Uber careful. Mine is averaging 25.8 overall with 80% of that on short journeys locally. 👍

Not back in those days, sadly.

No regrets though. :)

Don't you find that getting > 30mpg is tedious though?

Certainly do. Only really get it on motorways with camera monitored sections tbh. Having said that I think the 2.9 is a fabulous engine and surprisingly frugal (relatively) for the performance available.

I'll be interested to compare it with the 3.0 currently on the drive, although that seems less thirsty now it's got 35k on it .... maybe I'm just not being as heavy footed?

My MPG is about 30 ( i do lots of motor ways) with 2 L engine which is still thirsty for the engine size. the car is not feeling slow as long as there is not 4 people in the car. I get 0-60 under 6 seconds with Lunch control.
It feels slow after you hit 110 Miles in 4th gear and shift it to 5th.
