Hi,
I am in Aberdeen, have a 2017 GTS - and Porsche garage just quoted be £1800 for a interim service, oil, air, pollen filters. Plus due to age not mileage PDK oil & filter, spark plugs,
All the parts come to £800 and the labour is £1000 for 5hrs.
Is it just me or is £1800 for a fluids and filter service crazy???!!
Just checking thoughts before I book. I find this really hard to accept, when I could do it all myself, but it’s under extended warranty.

That’s ridiculous. My friend had a ‘17 GTS with extended warranty and he had his serviced by an independent using Porsche approved parts - this did NOT invalidate his warranty.
He sold it recently to get a Cayenne coupe and it also did NOT effect the price he got from an OPC!

Welcome to the forum.

Alas it is the cost of owning a Porsche and using an OPC.

I have just been quoted £1600 from my local OPC for the very same service on my 2016 Turbo.

Have both or either of you with recent quotes been given a split of the total cost between the different parts, eg pdk oil change, brake fliud, plug change, engine oil change and service inspection etc ?

Welcome to our friendly forum. :)

Looking at Geoff’s quote above, the difference (of about £700) is nearly all down to the exorbitant cost of Porsche labour.

If indeed it wouldn’t invalidate your warranty, as Jon states, I’d deffo opt for a reputable indy, using genuine Porsche parts.

Cheers,
Simon

Looking back Perth quoted me £1355 for 4 year major service. Edinburgh was £1343 for major and gearbox. They have an Exclusive Customer card that gives 10% off parts and labour plus other benefits. Cost is with discount.

Porsche used to have transparent fixed price servicing since withdrawn

This is what they previously quoted

Not exactly but as mine is pretty low mileage the OPC that I used to use did not change the plugs at 4 years so that factors into the rip off cost I quoted and that is what any OPC would probably charge.

I looked at the service costs as per the prior post (do not this list is no longer valid) with £1250 being the norm for a 6y plus brake fluid plus plugs would give c£1600

As they want the car for two days I will be getting a loaner, I will be interested in what that will be.

OPC Edinburgh 'phoned me last week to remind me my GTS is due it's first service in November and quoted me £900 (includes brake fluid change). I seem to recall paying approximately £620 for the same service on my previous GTS about 2 and a half years ago. I thought that was steep enough at the time but £900 is just taking the proverbial. And as if that's not bad enough, they told me they currently charge £1,800 for a 4 year service. Doesn't exactly encourage customer loyalty. As much as I love Porsches, I think it might be time to leave the fold.

Perhaps the secret is to order a new one when you pick up your new one. Then in 18 months p/x it at the price paid. 🤣🤣
