My Macan is coming up for 5 years old and there's no sign of road rash.

No, but I'd fit them if I could find some. We have a 70m long gravel driveway, stones from which inevitably get stuck in the tyre treads and then ping out as you drive down the road. Also, it would reduce the amount of muck from the rear wheels that ends up plastering the front of the caravan when towing.

Re Mud flaps. the Gen 3 Macan appears to have the same wing profile as the previous models but there is a difference in the fixing screws positions
of the cladding under the wings. I have fitted mud flaps on all my previous Macans ( a S diesel/A Mk2 GTS/A Petrol S model now a MacanT model) but never drilled the wings to enable fitting used clamps to secure where the holes in the flaps do not line up.
I agree they do not enhance the vehicle but on my S model after 6 months there was stone chips especially on the lower edge of the front doors and decided to fit front and rear Mud flaps. Before fitting applied light coating of waterproof taping to protect paintwork
The rear Mud flaps help a little to keep the rear of the vehicle clean but the fronts stop any potential damage to the lower edges of the front doors
The last set i have only fitted fronts purchased from Amazon ( made in China) cost £38.00 the are okay certainly much better than Universal fitting Mud flaps on Ebay.
Only you must decide if the Macan looks better minus Mud Flaps or practical if fitted to stop potential damage through our appalling road surfaces we endure
They have not Impeded my MPG consumption or the HUGE THRUST OF POWER of the T MODEL only joking of course
