Can someone confirm what the service intervals are on a 16 plate diesel

The garage says 2 years or 20k , but I think I read somewhere on diesels it's yearly services?

...although in some cases, the car wants a service/oil change before the 2 years or 20,000 miles is reached. This has been experienced in both Macans & a Panamera, as reported by forum contributors (although this may be mostly for petrol-engined cars). :geek:

Oil changes are fixed at 2 years on the diesel and I believe gen1 petrol. Gen 2 onwards have variable oil change intervals dependant on usage.

20k or two years is correct, however, I had an oil change every year/8k miles when I owned an SD as 20k is too long IMO

Of course, this does not mean that a Gen1 car used for short trips only does not have oil after say 10k mileage which has picked up contaminants form cold starts and is in a state the sensor on a Gen2 car would quite sensible be suggesting needs changing.

I'm not sure "Fixed" is the right term here. Effectively, these are the maximum intervals for both servicing and oil changes. The car monitors oil condition and may call for oil changes at shorter intervals. This particularly the case with the SD if it's used for lots of short journeys (given the same usage, petrol engined oil change intervals will also come in).

I didn't think this was the case for Gen 1 cars, which was the original question.
