So after going backwards and forwards between landrover audi and porsche I have finally decided to put deposit down on a new macan gts. Received the paperwork via email and the estimated delivery date is 31 December 2024!
Nice
New gts
Wow! Think I might be tempted to get a used one or a well specced S, with super low mileage rather than wait over two years…

I spoke with my SE a couple of weeks ago and he said 18 months is their GTS lead time so to order next March for a 74 plate. I will have to get back to him.

I think I’d risk a Range Rover - I know it would be in the garage for a good chunk of those two years but at least I’d have something on the drive the rest of the time !

I too am a mere mortal punter with a Macan GTS on order. I was given 12-15 months delivery and I am currently 9 months and counting.
I have pondered why the quoted dates are so long for a GTS and have concluded that Porsche GB and the UK OPCs have a devils compact. To ensure the OPCs deliver the required premises and presentation, they are promised a certain number of cars for “showroom”, “demonstrators” and “stock”.
Whilst the cars are currently fetching used prices over list, you and I, dear reader are never going to see one of those and they all get run as demonstrators for a week and then get sold as used cars with nominal mileage by the OPC. Last time I looked, the Porsche GB used car website listed 18 Gen3 GTS, and all at significantly over RRP.
Whilst supply remains tight, we are right at the end of the queue and in fact they probably don’t want to sell a new car to a retail punter at all. It costs the OPCs money.
Anybody feel like a valued customer?
Thought not.

Valued or not has nothing to do with it. Waited 18 months for my first Macan, have another car on order that will be more than two years from point of order. It’s all about supply and demand and the fact that the whole world (when it comes to component supply) amongst everything else, is in turmoil. Always amazes me that some out there just don’t get it.

I too would not be prepared to wait over two years for a new car, so would buy something else, or possibly a pre-loved Macan.
At my age, 26 months might be quite a highish percentage of my remaining time on this earth. We only live once!
Cheers,

It may also be due to OPC. I ordered my GTS late January and was told approx 18 months wait time, it should now be delivered in December. I received that confirmation in June.
I also would not be surprised if order lists move around, I know I had a moment of hesitancy because of the economy - but I also know I need the car, it’s a non negotiable at this point. Others may not be in the same position.
Hopefully the wait won’t be as long as 24 months

Are you waiting or just ordering early. I know I want to replace my S with the GTS after 2 year's ownership. In the old days you'd order 6 mths before you wanted it now it's 18 months. So I will order in March but all I will have done is ordered a year before I normally would have. I certainly know not to wait for or expect a definitive delivery date. It will be as variable as the date I pop me clogs and I'm definitely not counting the days until then.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 9:44 pm I too would not be prepared to wait over two years for a new car.......
