Car dealers are assigned blocks of numbers by DVLA to call off as they want.Jon A wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 9:39 pmOk but…Skyway wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 9:25 pmYeah, my SE has said it’s just for information even though the invoice also has an assigned registration number on it. It has had its PDI in Sheerness and the Bose is being fitted at the OPC along with my dash cam. They’re also very happy for me to inspect the car before parting with a penny, which I’ll definitely be doing after all the things I’ve heard and seen on the forum . I’ve also said that if the date hits Christmas then it has to be a 1 Jan registration.Jon A wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 7:38 pm
It’s interesting they have invoiced your car this long before delivery. Did they do this while still on hold for Bose?
As soon as they invoice it will count toward their Q4 targets, when it is paid for is almost irrelevant from a P&L point of view (obviously critical for B/S). This would mean they could wait without any pressure before delivery?
If it has an assigned registration number, has it not already been registered?
Either way it’s only days away now so exciting

That agrees with my experience with the OPC being able to choose /reserve a number some days before registration.Bluesnose1812 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 11:04 pmCar dealers are assigned blocks of numbers by DVLA to call off as they want.Jon A wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 9:39 pmOk but…Skyway wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 9:25 pm

For a 2023 GTS my order form says:
Delivery: £144
1st Reg: £55
Road Fund Licence: £2,365
Total: £2,564.
I suspect a Macan S will be less than that and the 2.0L even more so.

As Jon A says, it depends on the exact spec of the particular car. I’m sure it would be possible to spec an S and a GTS in such a way that the emissions (and therefore RFL) of the S matched or exceeded the GTS.

There should be no delivery charge shown. I would refuse it. Unless of course you are having it delivered to your home as an extra cost option.

Yep, this is true, but I think in the real world the most the S will be is equal. I mean, imagine having a GTS at its stated minimum of 255g/km, thus avoiding the higher rate by 1g/km. What would the spec look like? Probably no pan roof for a start. I’d salute anyone who managed to achieve that savingWing Commander wrote: ↑Wed Dec 07, 2022 1:32 pmghostwalker wrote: ↑Wed Dec 07, 2022 9:28 am For a 2023 GTS my order form says:
