Col Lamb wrote: Fri Dec 16, 2022 8:41 am Cannot be sure if the system in your Macan is the same as in mine but to update mine I had to have the Subscription for the online services and an active SIM card in the slot.

Updates had to be manually initiated via the PCM Menu.

Updates have always been a pain to do in car, way way slow, why you could jot download them and load from an SD card is anyones guess.
Hi Col. From Gen II onwards, if you have the subscription service (free for the first two years) updates install automatically. The first time it happened to me was a little disturbing, the screen goes black and a message appears "update successfully installed" appears which you have to acknowledge.
Thanks Peter for the info.

The Op’s Macan is a 2019 and they think that they subscribe!

If they are a subscriber then the maps should update automatically.

Or should they?

Is another subscription for Data services also required?

Both will need the My Porsche App to be live and that is a pain to setup.
Only the Navigation Plus subscription is required (£159) I've lost count of the downloads I've noticed with no issues to report. Obviously road layout changes will take a while to filter through and be quicker to show in Google Maps which, presumably, is one of the primary sources. Even they may rely on users reporting the changes though.

Took me a while to find mine!

Press Home button

Then 'Set' on the screen

Then 'Software Update'

Finally 'Version Information'. Believe I'm up-to-date and V03959804ES 0195 ECE 2022

And if I've brought the right bit of the map up J7A isn't on my version of the map. Hope this helps

Thanks Madelvic, but that looks like an earlier versions of the PCM, in fact very similar to my 991.2. I don’t seem to have an option to instigate updates myself.

As such I could not work out to interrogate the PCM to find out which map version is loaded. But I reckon it’s the current one.

Yes I'm in a Gen 1 car. I can do map updates across the air (via the Porsche Connect Services) and did so recently, so believe this to be the most up-to-date version.

Think they are issued annually so probably a bit of time lag for updates to find their way into the system
