Backlighting only active when headlights are on. Given they are black they aren’t that easy to see/read on certain days when ambient light is low, but not low enough to put the headlights on.

Most modern vehicles have permanent illumination of the dash binnacle. Does anyone know if this can be changed to always on?

The intensity can be varied by turning the control which also, when pressed, resets the trip meter, is that turned down to "zero", if indeed that's possible? Is this a sudden change when did it work last, or has it ever?

Never worked Neil although only had it 2 weeks. Just something wife mentioned, but couldn’t see an obvious way to sort it. I’ll check the setting you referred to.

Drawn a blank unless it can be programmed to always illuminate by the dealer?

Intensity can be altered once illuminated, but if you’ve only got the DRL’s on then there’s no background illumination

Should have ordered white dials

Just leave the lights on Auto. Mine haven't moved from the vertical other than a couple of times when fog lights were called for. I do notice the backlights coming on during the day going under bridges and the like but sight of the instruments has never been an issue.
