Just got back from having a problem with my June 2021 GTS fixed at the dealer including a revised software update to fix the rear seatbelt warning indication.
On stopping on the way home I got a warning flash up on the dash saying Oil Change required. I've checked the oil level and its around 80%.
The puzzling thing is the service indicator says service not due for another 5300 miles ( car has done 14750 miles).

Puzzled - which takes priority? Do I leave the oil change till the service indicator says in 5300 miles or do I get it done now. Car will be due its 2 year service in 3 months do I get that done now too?
Dealer quoting £475 for oil change but I think that's the price of the 2 year service.

Any advice or thoughts - nearest dealer is a 2 hour return journey in a direction I rarely go so its a bit of a pain, but cheaper than a damaged engine.

The service indicator and oil change are separate. If it was less than 1000 miles difference I would wait for the service. 5k is too much. I would go to a Porsche indy for the oil change now and you won't need to have it done in June.

Best to double-check that!

Like the thought of saving money but not the thought of laying in the drive under the car in this weather - garage occupied by my Lotus - all up on stands mid rebuild.
Nearest indy Porsche specialist almost as far away as the dealer and their prices aren't cheap either.
Not doing much mileage recently, tempted to leave it to next month and have the 2 year service done, main curiosity was what causes it to say the oil needs changing but it doesn't need a service.

I wonder whether the oil change call has been triggered by date, i.e. two years from build rather than mileage? What is showing in the MFF service interval screen before for date?

That was definitely the case with services but not oil that seems driven by use, or even lack of it!

I am quite confident that if I used he car only once a fortnight but on each cold start did 150 miles, the oil change would be called by 2 years rather than 7800 miles

if Bigbaldyblokes mileage is all long trips and at 14k with the filter test showing another 5300 i.e. nearly 20 k between changes on mileage, that is suggesting such a date trigger with a clean oil after few very short trips failing to burn off cold start contaminants.

The question of course does arise with Mobil One, a advanced full synthetic engine oil, it should not be deteriorating with age alone like a mineral oil? However, I would not risk breaking warranty conditions.
