I took her for a good run today - sits so comfortably on a motorway grade road at erm, a little (lot) of the speed limit. Something you could see cruising down to the south of France in - most comfortable car by far.

Just ticked over 47k miles this week though !

I think the 928 is quite an icon, and was way ahead of its time.

My 5 year old Carrera T will be ticking past 47k very soon, probably by the end of this month! :P

Too far ahead of its time to be fair !

The 5.0 V8 is a peach - silky smooth

It doesn’t feel that fast although it isn’t slow according to the book - I suspect I’m just spoilt.

Fast in the late 70s or the 80s is different to fast in 2023.

Lots of hot hatches now are as fast or faster than ‘supercars’ of yesteryear. 8-)

I had my new Arctic Grey Boxster coated by a very reputable detailer.
After a blast up to and on the Isle of Man I had a lot of hardened insect debris to clean off. It was the first time to wash the car from new and being coated.
I had to work the wash mit and microfibre towel to remove the insects, but it has left fine patches where the insects were. Also the bonnet has a couple of very light scratches where it looks like maybe a gull has landed.
On my Macan which has just been waxed frequently with DoDo Juice Carnuba wax, I would just polish them out, but obviously can't do this on ceramic coating.
I would have expected ceramic coating to be a rock hard surface very resistant to scratches and insect marks...am I wrong?
How do you polish out any scratches on a ceramic coating.
The detailer is coming out next week to have a look, but at this moment I am quite unimpressed with ceramic coating and wish I had just put on layers of Carnuba wax.
Washed mine yesterday and yes in the sun but it had some sticky stuff on the bonnet and roof, washed great, but the neighbour came across for a chat and some of the excess water dried and left ring marks, had to re wash areas then used auto glym polish to get remainder of marks out, would have been very hard work if not ceramic coated, having said that I don’t think it’s as good as it’s cracked up to be , time will tell….
