Thanks - I saw a picture of a Macan and it looked like the tow bar was very close to the rear valance - I was concerned the tow bar was just sliding backwards and forwards rather than folding underneath.

Back to the thread - I’ll have some pictures later in the year, the last hoorah for our Gen 1 will be an epic road trip which will visit France, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

Not overseas, but we've just completed an almost 1,300 mile trip to the Derbyshire Peaks, Northumberland and North Yorks, 850 miles of which were covered towing our 'van.

Likewise not abroad but “overseas” after a fashion as we had to take a CalMac ferry to get here: this is at Killinallan on Islay, where we went for a 6 mile walk today.

Gorgeous place - we encountered hordes of singing seals out on the sand bars and saw a white-tailed sea eagle fly overhead (massive great thing).

The last time I drove our car abroad it was on a Skiing Holiday in the Alps, I was a Skiing Instructor hence pretty good at the Sport.

We were travelling to different resorts, wherever the will took us.

Breakfast in Chamonix in France, through the Tunnel into Italy for Lunch, over a Pass into Switzerland for Dinner at our Hotel in Verbier.

Then back into France a few days later and into the Three Valleys where my Wife was crashed into whilst skiing and ended up in Hospital where her knee was strapped up, then I slipped on some ice and dislocated my Coccyx but did not know that at the time, just that my lower back was badly swollen and very painful.

Hence it was a never ending and most uncomfortable journey through France to the Channel and the 350 mile trip up North added to the purgatory.

Driving and extreme Sports do not make good bedfellows.

Glad you're getting the miles and usage in. Truly an incredible spec.

Might want to fire up the surround view cameras more, though ;)

A couple of weeks ago we were up in the Lake District for some mountain biking.

Let me tell you, a Macan is not the perfect vehicle for the tiny, narrow roads in the Lakes. Many squeeky bum moments when someone was coming the other way.

The 6hr drive up there though was fantastic.

Bonus pic of a GT3 I stumbled upon in Windemere.
