PTV Plus
Its relative!
PTV works by applying the rear appropriate rear brake to tighten the turning radius.
Ergo the rear discs will be used more than when driving in the normal Miss Daisy style.
So it is dependant upon how much hooning around you will do as to the amount of extra wear that will occur.
So maybe the rear discs on a non PTV Macan will last 10,000 miles more, so what? At least you will have had fun and the extra confidence that the feature will give your driving.
If, out of the 15 plus Macan’s that I have driven one or more had PTV then it was never obvious.
Personally I would not bother including it in any configuration.

Not something that I would spec either but if someone else already spec'd it then it doesn't make much difference unless it's going to cost me a bit in replacement brakes.
I was just concerned about the brakes wearing quicker, which they seem to, but how quick?....I seem to remember reading on here or a 911 forum that it reduced their life significantly

I’m guessing, but I think unless frequently used on the track or considerable hooligan driving on the road it’s unlikely that the rear brake wear would be very significant. And I agree with Col that I wouldn’t spec it on a regular road car. I also don’t believe those who say they can feel it operating in road use.
Regarding accelerated brake wear I’d be be more concerned about frequent use of ACC.

My Macan SD with PTV+ seems to wear the rear brakes at the same rate as the front brakes so all get changed together. So far that's been only once at 37,500 miles.

I had PTV on my 981 S. It did definitely help in turning the car into a corner. I had a direct comparison as my
previous 981 did not have it.
When I bought the S S/H from an OPC I had sight of the worksheet carried out in preparation.
It had new discs and pads at 26000 miles.
PTV will use the rear brakes a lot more

From reading some very old threads on here it seems PTV is very marmite and is quite a controversial subject!Nuclear Nick wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 12:52 pm I’m guessing, but I think unless frequently used on the track or considerable hooligan driving on the road it’s unlikely that the rear brake wear would be very significant. Conclusion I came to from reading the old threads was that it doesn't wear the rear brakes significantly quicker. However, from reading the above maybe it was the wrong conclusion to come to!

I have PTV+, and I can tell when it's active when I am driving - agreed you do have to be pushing on, so you don't really notice it every drive, only when you're giving it some - but you can tell when it kicks in for sure.
There was a thread somewhere from someone who drove 2 Macans at their experience day back to back, one with PTV+ and one without - he said the comparison was obvious when driven back to back.
Rear pad wear is not a concern.
