A week ago, just 9 new Macan's in showrooms nationally, the least of any model.

516 Taycans.

I'd agree, you made the right choice...

I too would like to know more. What exactly is being counted here?

New cars for sale? Cars physically in a showroom?

Swindon (a large OPC) with only 6 cars - all Taycans?

Bristol (another large OPC) with only 8 cars - all Taycans?

:geek:

Edit: Just checked on Swindon’s website. 58 cars for sale, 11 of which are listed as ‘new’, not all of which are Taycans. :ugeek:

I wanted a Porsche that can accommodate myself, wife and 2 teens with sometimes small dogs in the boot. I didn’t want a Porsche SUV as the handling of them while good is very far from how a Taycan can take corners. I do however love the power and instant torque of the electric motor.
Did you consider a Panny at all?
I had a 4hybrid for the day last week and thought it was remarkably smooth with a fantastic ride.
I didn’t really consider a Panny as the looks don’t appeal to me as much. I also like the electric drive of the Taycan.

It's from a PH thread, post on 16th Oct, here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/top ... 992&i=2220

But originally, the info can be got from the Porsche UK web site, with about an hours work listing new cars in stock for each OPC. Someone on Pistonheads most have done that

Here’s a thought that just occurred to me. With the new UK zero-emissions quotas starting on January 1st, there is no incentive for Porsche dealers to discount their unsold Taycans before then. It doesn’t help them meet their zero-emissions quota if they sell a Taycan before January. But I guess there could be significant Taycan discounts in the new year. Since 22% of their 2024 UK sales have to be zero-emission cars, for every Taycan they sell after January 1st they are allowed to sell four 911s. If they sell no Taycans in the UK next year they can’t sell any 911s - or they have a £15,000 fine for each 911 and negative PR from not meeting the quota.

So what do you guys think? Are Porsche dealers stocking up on Taycans to sell at a discount in 2024?

I had a £5,000 voucher emailed 10th Oct by Leicester OPC...

But they could be clawing it back in the 11.3% finance rate?

Would that be £5,000 deposit contribution for a new order, not for an in-stock car? So would be a 2024 sale. I think they won’t exert themselves to sell the ones in stock before January.
