Nothing to show - we’re in North Wales to do Zip world with family. We are in the Kia and spent the afternoon on Anglesey which included a quick look at the race track!

Called into a service station today just as a Tesla was parking up in front of the sole charger.
I walked in, went for a wee, got myself a cuppa and a piece of cake and sat inside to consume them. Sat at the window to see Mr. Tesla driver struggle on getting the charger to work. Plug-in, plug-out. Shuck it about. Lots of looking on his phone, looking at charger. Plug back in.
I must have been 15-20 minutes before I walked back out. He was still struggling. I passed him as a drove off, and I think he'd given up. Probably back in car looking for an alternative charger location. And that is why EV's are useless unless the infrastructure is good enough, or you only travel to and back in one charge.
And even if it was working, imagine pulling up to fine the one charger, but 3 other people waiting in-line to use it? Buy an EV campervan. At least you can get some sleep while you wait a few hours for your turn.

A neighbour of mine has a Macan GTS but also a mini EV. He uses the Mini to go to and from work, supermarket etc and it never gets charged anywhere but at home.
He would not use it for a long or unknown journey and saves a fortune in fuel as a result. This is how I see EV’s making the most sense.

Never used a public charger so was cheap motoring
Didn’t care where I left it, let’s be honest nobody was going to steal it and they were more likely to cuddle it as an ugly child than vandalise it

Great circuit with great views.
Let us know about the zip wire. Mrs is desperate to do it, me less so as I’m scared of heights but I’ll do it to keep her happy as I’m that kind of guy…

Zip world is good value. Great experience and a good venue with good food and drink, parking, viewing etc. Well worth a go

Yep, we use the wife's Mini SE for any round trips of less than 100ish miles, except when transporting the grandchildren or other passengers, and when towing the 'van. The Macan does everything else. Had the Macan for just over 16 months now and covered 10k miles, had the Mini for 12 months and done 3.5k. Only time it's ever been charged other than at home was a cheeky free top-up at a Mini dealership.Jon A wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 6:39 pm A neighbour of mine has a Macan GTS but also a mini EV. Watched the MacMaster on YouTube last night, not only has he lost thousands on his Taycan, his insurance has gone up from £600 to £3,100. Plus a recent survey has revealed the Porsche Taycan to be the most unreliable EV ! There are lots of videos showing Chinese EV's experiencing spontaneous combustion but I was surprised to see a video of a Taycan going up in flames in China of all places. ! Not surprising that many insurance companies are evaluating the extra risks involving EV's or not insuring them at all.
